Greensboro, North Carolina

In early 1984 a number of local churches in the Southeastern United States began to pray and seek the Lord concerning their desire for the spread of the Lord's testimony. Out of prayer and much fellowship among the churches arose a particular feeling for the city of Greensboro, North Carolina. Gradually a number of families were led of the Lord to relocate to Greensboro to stand together for the Lord's purpose there.
In October of 1984 four families and a single brother moved into Greensboro and began to meet from house to house. These believers enjoyed meals together and met almost daily for prayer, fellowship and mutual encouragement. By the spring of the following year, another half a dozen families had moved to Greensboro, further strengthening the Lord's move. In April of 1985 over 200 believers were gathered together representing about a dozen churches from Pittsburgh to Atlanta to partake of the Lord's table together (1 Corinthians 10:21) and provide public testimony of the oneness of the Body of Christ. Those who attended will never forget the sense of oneness and the enjoyment together of the Lord's rich presence.
Since 1985 the Lord has shepherded the church through some trials, and by His mercy and grace He has preserved His testimony to this day. The Lord said He would build His church and that the gates of Hades shall not prevail against the builded church (Matthew 16:18). God is writing a wonderful poem, a masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), and He is using fragile earthen vessels of mercy to carry out His purpose to gain a Bride. Meeting by meeting we can testify of the Lord's presence and speaking, and we confess that the Son of Man is walking in the midst of the churches.
With a fresh consecration and a thankful heart, we are full of hope and expectation as we move into the next year, decade and century, if our Lord should tarry. We respond anew to the Lord's commission to reap the harvest and to His call to overcome for the consummating of His eternal purpose. As we pursue the Lord as our center, we take the Body of Christ and its building up as our line and the New Jerusalem as our unique goal.
